Alfabet 10.4

Alfabet 10.4 focuses on the importance of insights from all users across the platform and offers new, innovative and unique features that allow more engaged participation, enable greater productivity, increase speed and agility, and facilitate better decisions.

  • Conversational User Interface (CUI): The new “AlfaBot” chatbot helps users find information efficiently and easily perform tasks such as creating and editing objects. Further releases will see significant expansion of CUI use.
  • Automated data translation enhancements: This provides end users the means to capture and maintain IT portfolio information in their preferred language to raise productivity and ensure high data quality in multilanguage organizations.
  • Portfolio diagnostics: Users can explore and understand which aspects of the IT portfolio may need attention using modern artificial intelligence technology for discovery and analysis.
  • Extended data capture templates: Next gen data capture functionality speeds up and simplifies the collection and maintenance of bulk data using easily definable templates and Excel® spreadsheets.
  • End-user analytics dashboards: End users can create ad-hoc, information-rich, collaboration-ready data visualizations from a large pool of data sources.

Adabas & Natural April 2019

The Adabas & Natural April 2019 release comprises new releases for EntireX, ApplinX and CONNX. As one important element of Software AG’s “Adabas & Natural 2050+ Agenda” the new release supports customers in optimizing and modernizing their mission- and business-critical Adabas & Natural applications to fully harness their innovation potential.

Here are the highlights:

  • Natural 9 for mainframe for IBM® z/VSE® and BS2000
    • Helps customers attract new talent and deliver innovation faster by embracing Eclipse™-based and DevOps-ready NaturalONE, now the default development environment for Natural, replacing the green-screen Natural Editors
    • Entire Operations has been improved to produce more accounting data and allows users to analyze this data using the GUI client
  • New versions of the Entire Systems Management (ESM) products
    • Entire Output Management allows you to create reports on UNIX®/Linux® for all target platforms, especially the mainframe
    • Supports long passwords - passphrases up to a length of 128 characters with Natural Security
  • Adabas Review and Entire Net-Work are now available on z/VSE and BS2000
  • Event Replicator for Adabas
    • Available for z/VSE and BS2000
    • Improve high availability for replication by using a persistent store that keeps data from transactions that are not committed by the target system
    • New target adapter for webMethods Integration Server connects to additional applications and big data targets
    • Target adapter for Terracotta now supports Terracotta DB
    • New target adapter for Adabas LUW
    • End-to-end monitoring of replication scenarios provide full visibility and transparency

Cumulocity IoT Core Platform 10.4

With Cumulocity IoT Core Platform, end-to-end IoT applications can be built faster than ever, allowing you to prove the value of your IoT solutions much sooner. Cumulocity IoT can be deployed wherever you need it: cloud, on-premises and edge. It combines our leading technologies ranging from secure device, cloud and enterprise integration to streaming & predictive analytics to process automation and application development.

Highlights include:

  • SSO integration using OAuth and tested with Microsoft® Azure® AD and ADFS
  • Cloud Fieldbus support for CANopen
  • New web SDK based on Angular, allowing you to extend the Cumulocity UI with Angular applications
  • Cloud remote access for SSH, allowing you to establish a remote SSH connection to devices in protected networks through a gateway device located within the target network without requiring a VPN
  • Logging & monitoring for microservices, allowing you to better operate your own microservices by analyzing microservice logs and monitoring their health
  • Improved branding including a live preview, allowing you to easily white-label your Cumulocity IoT platform
  • Support for custom LWM2M decoders, allowing you to process proprietary or custom LWM2M data objects (e.g., the LWM2M Opaque data type) within a microservice

Cumulocity IoT Edge 10.4

Cumulocity IoT Edge is an onsite, single-server variant of the Cumulocity IoT Core platform. It is delivered as a software appliance designed to run on industrial PCs or local servers.

Cumulocity IoT Edge 10.4 adds these improvements:

  • Includes Apama Analytics Builder
  • All new features in Administration, Cockpit, Device Management applications and related APIs based on the 10.4.0 release of the Cumulocity IoT Platform
  • VMWare®-based hypervisors as the preferred choice for production Cumulocity IoT Edge installations. VirtualBox support is marked as “non production”
  • Edge installation improved in many areas, including configurable IP addresses, disk expansion, email service and documentation

Apama 10.3.1

Software AG's Apama Streaming Analytics is the market-leading platform for streaming analytics and intelligent automated action on fast-moving big data. The latest release adds:

  • Analytics Builder (available in Cumulocity IoT Edge) to provide self-service analytics to the domain experts, allowing web-based “drag & drop” building of streaming analytics applications
  • Dynamic HTTP server responses from EPL, allowing applications to dynamically determine what makes up the response when Apama is used as an HTTP server
  • HTTP client and server miscellaneous improvements, supporting redirection, cookie jars, base64 encoding/decoding and gzip
  • Additional EPL helper functions, making it easier to write EPL applications for Cumulocity IoT
  • Command line tooling for managing Software AG Designer projects, making it easier to use scripting and automation with such projects
  • Prometheus monitoring of correlators, including non-numeric metadata in the metrics
  • ARM support for license-only features, allowing connecting to Zementis predictive analytics
  • Capital markets adapters upgraded and enhanced with support for new vendor platforms, the latest vendor specifications and with new capabilities

Zementis 10.4

Zementis Server is a decision engine for operational deployment, integration and execution of AI and machine learning models.

Zementis Server in Cumulocity IoT adds these improvements:

  • Zementis Server is now available as a dedicated microservices application in Cumulocity IoT
  • You can deploy and execute machine learning models in Cumulocity IoT
  • You can manage the entire machine learning model lifecycle in Cumulocity IoT

Zementis Server Stand-Alone adds these improvements:

  • New UI-based on Angular
  • Zementis Server available as a Docker® image
  • Enhanced support for CNNs with pooling layer optimizations
  • Updated REST API to support authentication tokens and license management
  • Integration with Software AG Update Manager for fix delivery
  • Compliance with upcoming PMML 4.4 release features:
    • Support for multiple model methods "weightedSum" and "weightedMedian"
    • Support for new attributes MiningField@invalidValueReplacement and Lag@aggregate
    • Support for new Built-in Functions: isValid, isNotValid, modulo(%), sin, asin, sinh, cos, acos, cosh, tan, atan, tanh, rint, hypot, ln1p, expm1

TrendMiner 2019.R2

TrendMiner is a self-service advanced analytics platform for time series data, enabling subject matter experts in the process manufacturing industry to analyze, monitor and predict process and asset performance in their operational context to improve operational excellence and overall profitability.

TrendMiner 2019.R2 Release introduces these capabilities:

  • NEW DashHub: Consolidate the results of your analytics projects and visualize them in a visually appealing manner in a new central location. Here, TrendHub and ContextHub views can be displayed in the form of resizable tiles to create dashboards of your design
  • Context item fields: Add extra structured information to your context items by adding fields like; quality results, batch numbers, campaigns or a work order from a third-party system.
  • Additional ContextHub improvements:
    • Additional filters for description, created by, and all extra properties added by the context item fields
    • Easily configure which columns should be visible
    • Directly visualize context items in TrendHub with the push of a button
  • User-driven TrendHub enhancements:
    • Directly have a high-resolution result of your work in TrendMiner to copy-paste into reports or emails
    • Easily update your views by making the necessary changes first, then overwrite the existing view
  • Unified application top-bar: new top-bar allowing for easy navigation between TrendHub, ContextHub and the new DashHub drivers
  • Improved ConfigHub: a completely re-styled interface for TrendMiner for system administrators to monitor the key services of TrendMiner, manage the application license and back-ups and configure security in one central location.

Integration and API

  • Integration Server enables developers to create a GraphQL schema that describes various types and fields in order to develop APIs that adhere to the GraphQL standard
  • Integration Server provides native support for JSON™ schema, allowing a developer to create a JSON document type based on a JSON schema
  • Software AG Designer can be used to publish REST API descriptors (Swagger) to webMethods API Gateway
  • Integration Server offers enhanced support for Swagger 2.0 standard while creating REST APIs
  • Microservices Runtime has a decreased disk size requirement and an improved start-up time
  • The new UI in Active Transfer supports UI enhancements for actions, logs and Proxy Server settings
  • Software AG Designer Service Development supports a new view called Deployment Status, which shows cloud deployment history with deployment status and logs
  • CloudStreams Server supports the ability to associate one or more authentication schemes supported by SaaS applications or back-end systems while creating a connection
  • CloudStreams Server supports the Salesforce® Replay Events mechanism for message durability to retrieve and process lost events sent by Salesforce, within the supported retention window
  • In API Gateway, import and export support is enhanced to include all assets and configurations as well as staging and promotion support
  • API providers can invoke multiple APIs in parallel as part of one mashup step and aggregate the response that is passed to the next step
  • API Gateway provides a dedicated screen to display groups of registered microgateways and details about them
  • The API gallery page now displays grouping of APIs based on the community they are published to. webMethods Microgateway provides support for Kubernetes with health and readiness checks, and Prometheus metrics
  • webMethods Microgateway now supports API scoping, resource- and method-level policy enforcement, and provisioning which includes runtime alias configurations
  • Task Engine now supports the archiving of task instance data in a separate data store
  • Integration of Business Console with co-located Task Engine running on Integration Server has been stabilized
  • The Common Directory Services component in Integration Server can use REST calls to synchronize user cache updates between Integration Server and a single My webMethods Server instance, instead of using Universal Messaging as a Java® Message Service (JMS) provider
  • Software AG Command Central allows for restarting runtime instances only if they require a restart for the updates to be applied
  • Command Central allows you to generate a template for a product instance that is hosted on Platform Manager 10.0 or higher by using a CLI command
  • Universal Messaging sessions using the "horizontal scalability" feature now support automatic (re-)connection to realm servers in the scalability set that are offline/unavailable when the session is created
  • Terracotta BigMemory 4.3.7 offers improvements for Terracotta server start/stop commands to facilitate safer automation of operations
