The annual International User Groups Conference was held June 8-12 in Rotterdam.

Who was there?

More than 360 participants from 200 companies from 36 countries all over the world attended this year’s conference! Many major, long-time customers participated including Banco do Brasil, Travelbasys (Germany), Banco Nacional de Panamá, American Armed Forces Mutual Aid Association, Philips, PACI (Kuwait), Zurich Airport, Electricité de France, Johnson & Johnson, Credit Suisse, Statoil, ING Bank, DSM and Bank of Peugeot-Citroën, just to name a few.

Highlights

The proven conference format met everyone’s expectations. We offered dedicated sessions that span all Software AG product brands. First up were the Adabas and Natural tracks as well as the session for the Alfabet user group. These were followed by the webMethods and ARIS sessions, which ran in parallel on the last two days of the conference. These two blocks were linked by the general track, where participants were able to gain a broader perspective on topics not connected to a particular product brand. This session opened with a keynote address by Software AG CEO Karl-Heinz Streibich.

In addition to presentations, live demos and discussions, there was plenty of time for networking. A “Meet the Experts” gathering was held in the foyer of the event site, giving attendees the opportunity to discuss topics with experts from Software AG and conference sponsors CrossVista, Ferrologic and Roundcube.

Participant feedback

“Software AG’s new technology gives our employees more time to be creative in developing solutions” was feedback that we received again and again.

The atmosphere was personal and friendly, and the attendees felt comfortable to communicate freely and openly.

In the end, many attendees described the International User Groups Conference as “a highly useful event,” giving them a great deal of input to take home.
