# Can Encryption be put on the Data been retrieved from the Mainframe Adabas Database

We have a customer who want to access data from a Adabas Database on the Mainframe (z/os) through Entire Net-work to the Adabas SQL on LINUX and applications using an ODBC link.  
this is a bank and need to ensure the data is secure.

The Adabas SQL Gateway supports SSL connections to the mainframe. Please refer to the CONNX User Reference Guide chapter 18 for information on how to configure it. If you have further questions, please contact Software AG technical support and we can walk you through the process.
