# Differences of the Natural for Windows and NaturalONE

Hi,  
i new in Adabas and Natural,  
but i know COBOL very well.

What are the practical differences of the Natural for Windows and NaturalONE?

Natural for Windows is a Windows application, for just … Natural.  
A full-blown IDE with local edit, compile & run support, or for connecting  
to a Natural Developments Server, i.e. a remote execution environment.

NaturalONE, otoh, is Eclipse based, thus based on the native Eclipse concepts,  
Perspectives, Views, Workspaces, …  
Primarily targeted as a IDE for developing for a server execution environment.

So when you start with NaturalONE right away there are a lot more things  
packaged into it, more things to learn and consider.
