USR1043N - Ver 2.8.8 vs Ver 4.2.1

We have a number of programs using USR1043N for file maintenance. When testing the upgrade to Ver 4.2.1 we encountered a DIR-CALL-RESPONSE of 60 with a subcode of 8. I have looked through the SAG ADABAS documents and tried making changes to the CONTROL-BLOCK variable but cannot fix the error; the 2.8.8 continues to work fine. Any thoughts about the difference between 2.8.8 and 4.2.1?

Solution found:

The CONTROL BLOCK had two fields that were populated using CONST. When those two fields were populated with assignment statements (or even INIT) the programs began working correctly.
